Boeing was incorporated in Washington by William E. Boeing in July 1916, as “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. The Boeing 737 first flew 9th of April 1967 and continued in production for thirteen years with little change until the introduction of the 300 series aircraft. The Boeing 737-800 series of airliners are powered by twin CFM56-7 turbofan engines and is effectively a stretched 737-900, the 800 series first entered service in 1998.
