Boeing was incorporated in Washington by William E. Boeing on 15th of July 1916, as “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. Today Boeing has become the Worlds largest manufacturer of airliners with only Airbus as significant or major competitor. The Boeing 737-400 series is powered by twin CFM56-3 turbofan engines and is a stretched 737-300 series airliner, the Boeing 737-400 series first entering service in 1988.

Russian based Transaero Airlines operates out of Moscow, it was incorporated in December 1990 becoming the first airline allowed to compete internally with the Russian state owned national airline Aeroflot. Transaero Airlines is currently operating a mixed Boeing and Tupolev airliner fleet.
