VH-OJO Qantas Boeing 747-438Information about Boeing 747-438 Boeing was incorporated in Washington by William E. Boeing on 15th of July 1916, as “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. Today Boeing has become the Worlds largest manufacturer of airliners, only Airbus is currently a significant competitor. The Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet first entered service in 1970 as the 747-100 series, the 747 series remained the largest airliners flying and in production for thirty seven years until the advent of the Airbus A380 in 2007. The Boeing 747-400 series first entered service in early February 1989, a freighter version was introduced four years later, it is the only 747 series still in production although Boeing intends to introduce a new stretched version, the "747-8 Intercontinental". Information about Qantas Qantas (Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service) was formed during November 1920, it operateing a mixed fleet of both Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
