Boeing was incorporated in Washington by William E. Boeing on 15th of July 1916, as “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. Today Boeing has become the Worlds largest manufacturer of airliners, only Airbus is a significant or major competitor.

The Boeing 737 first flew 9th of April 1967 and continued in production for thirteen years with very little change until the introduction of the 737-300 series airliners. The Boeing 737-400 series is powered by twin CFM56-3 turbofan engines and is effectively a stretched 737-300 series airliner, the Boeing 737-400 series first entering service in 1988.
