The Cessna Aircraft Company was formed in 1927 by ex-farmer Clyde Cessna. Cessna was bought by General Dynamics Corporation in 1985 and was then acquired by Textron Inc in 1992. The Cessna Citation was one of the first corporate jets to be powered by turbofans.
