Boeing on 15th of July 1916, as “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. Today Boeing has become the Worlds largest manufacturer of airliners with only Airbus as significant or major competitor. The Boeing 747-400 series "Jumbo-Jet" entered commercial during February 1989, a freighter version four years later, it is the only 747 series airliner in production but Boeing has announced it's intention to introduce a new stretched version, the "747-8 Intercontinental". Information about Malaysia Airlines Malaysia Airlines began operating commercially on May the 1st 1947 as Malayan Airways, changing it's name to Malaysian Airways in 1963, in October 1987 the airline's name was changed to Malaysia Airlines and became the national airline of Malaysia, operating scheduled passenger services worldwide and is one of only five airlines in the World to be given a 5-star rating by Skytrax.
