Boeing on 15th of July 1916, as “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. Today Boeing has become the Worlds largest manufacturer of airliners with only Airbus as significant competitor. The Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet first entered service in 1970 as the 747-100 series, the 747 series remained the largest airliners flying and in production for thirty seven years until the advent of the Airbus A380 in 2007. The first of the Boeing 747-400 series airliners entered service in February 1989, a freighter version in 1993, it is the only 747 series airliner still in production although Boeing has announced it intends to introduce a new stretched version, the "747-8 Intercontinental". Information about Kuwait Airways Kuwait Airways was formed by two Kuwaiti businessmen and started operations on 16 March 1954 as Kuwait National Airways. Today Kuwait Airways is owned by the Kuwaiti Government and is the national flag carrier of Kuwait. Kuwait Airways currently operates a mixed of Airbus and Boeing airliners.
