Airbus Industrie is a consortium of European aviation firms formed in 1967 when British, French and German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the first Airbus aircraft the Airbus A300 airliner. Today Airbus and Boeing dominate the Worlds airliner production. The Airbus A321 is a twin engine, single aisle plane, based on the existing A320 but lengthened by 6.94 m allowing a seating capacity of 220 passengers, the Airbus A321 first flew on the 11th of March 1993.
