Information about Egypt Air Egypt Air was formed in 1932 as Misr Airwork, it taken over by the Egyptian government during WW2 and re-named Misr Air in 1949, during 1961 it merged with Syrian Airways to form United Arab Airlines, in 1971 it was re-named to Egypt Air and is now the national airline of Egypt.
