G-BPEE British Airways Boeing 757-236Information about Boeing 757-236/ER Boeing was formed by William E. Boeing during July 1916, as the “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. Today Boeing has become the Worlds largest manufacturer of airliners with only Airbus as significant or major competitor. The 757 airliner entered commercial service in 1983, it replaced the older Boeing 727 range of aircraft. A total of 1,050 of these airliners had been produced when production finally ceased in 2005. The Boeing 757-200 series can carry between 228 and 234 passengers and is the most popular variant of the Boeing 757 airliner. Some Boeing 757-236's have been converted into Special Freighters, they are designated Boeing 757-200/SF's. Information about British Airways - BA British Airways was Founded as "Imperial Airways" during 1924 following the merger of Instone, Handley Page, Daimler Airways and British Air Marine Navigation. In 1939 the British government decided to nationalise Imperial Airways and British Airways and named the resultant company British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC). In 1972 BOAC and BEA were combined to create British Airways, the UK's national airline, in 1987 British Airways was privatised. In 1988 BA acquired British Caledonian, and in 1992 also acquired Dan-Air, this made the company the second largest airline in Europe. BA operates a mixed fleet of mainly Airbus and Boeing airliners.
