G-MIDV BMI British Midland Airbus A320-232Information about the Airbus A320-232 Airbus Industrie is a consortium of European aviation companies which joined together in 1967, following the British, French and German governments signing a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a European airliner, the Airbus A300. Airbus and Boeing now dominate the Worlds airliner production. The largest airliner in production for many decades has been the massive "Jumbo-jet" Boeing 747 series aircraft but the new Airbus A380, due to enter service during 2007, is even bigger and is already being nicknamed the "Super-jumbo". The Airbus A320 airliner is a twin engined, single aisle aircraft normally seating 180 passengers, the aircraft first flew on the 22nd February 1987 and has since proven to be an outstanding commercial success for Airbus Industrie. Information about BMI British Midland Founded in 1938 as Air Schools Ltd, in 1964 they changed their name to British Midland Airways (BMA), in February 2001 British Midland Airways joined the Star Alliance and re-named it's self bmi british midland following the 30% acquisition of British Midland Airways by Lufthansa.
