G-MIDP BMI British Midland Airbus A320-232Information about the Airbus A320-232 Airbus Industrie is a European consortium created during 1967 in respone to the British, French and German governments signing a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a all new European airliner, the Airbus Industrie A300. Airbus Industrie is now second only to Boeing in airliner production numbers. The largest passenger airliner in production for many years has been the enormous "Jumbojet", the Boeing 747 series airliner, but the all new Airbus Industrie A380, due to enter service during 2007, is even greater in size and is already being called the "Super-jumbo". The Airbus Industrie A320 airliner is a twin engined, single aisle aircraft normally seating 180 passengers, the aircraft first took to the air on the 22nd February 1987 and is an outstanding commercial success for it's manufacturers . Information about BMI British Midland Founded in mid 1938 as Air Schools Ltd in the UK, in 1964 to British Midland Airways (BMA), during February 2001 British Midland Airways joined the Star Alliance and re-named it's self bmi british midland following the 30% acquisition of British Midland Airways by Lufthansa.
