Airbus Industrie is a European consortium created during 1967 as a result of the British, French and German governments signing a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a all new European airliner, the Airbus Industrie A300. Airbus Industrie is now second only to Boeing in airliner production numbers. The largest passenger airliner in production for many years has been the enormous "Jumbojet", the Boeing 747 series airliner, but the all new Airbus Industrie A380, due to enter service during 2007, is even greater in size and is already being called the "Super-jumbo".

The Airbus A321 is a twin engine, single aisle plane, based on the A320 but lengthened by 6.94 m allowing a seating capacity of 220 passengers, the Airbus A321 first flew on the 11th of March 1993.
