Airbus Industrie is a consortium of European aviation companies formed during mid 1967 following the British, French and German governments signing a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a new competative airliner - the Airbus A300. Airbus and Boeing now jointly dominate the World's airliner production, the largest airliner in production for many decades was the famous "Jumbo Jet" Boeing 747 series airliner, now the all new Airbus A380, due to enter service in 2007, is even greater in size!

The Airbus A319 is a twin engine, single aisle commercial airliner based on the pre-existing A320 design shortened by 3.77 metres, it can seat a minimum of  200 passengers and a maximum of 280 passengers depending on it's configeration, the Airbus A319 made it's first flight during Aug 1995.

Information about BMI British Midland

BMI was created in 1938 as "Air Schools Ltd", in mid 1964 it had it's name changed to "British Midland Airways" (BMA) and in February 2001 British Midland Airways joined the Star Alliance and re-named it's self "bmi british midland" following the 30% acquisition of the company by Lufthansa. BMI's mixed airliner fleet currently consists of Boeing,  Airbus and Embraer passenger aircraft.
