I-BIXV Alitalia Airbus A321-112Information about the Airbus A321-112 Airbus Industrie began as a consortium of European aviation firms in 1967 when the British, French and German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the Airbus A300 airliner. Today Airbus and Boeing dominate World airliner production. The Airbus A321 is a twin engine, single aisle plane, based on the A320 but lengthened by a further 6.94m allowing an increased seating capacity of 220 passengers, the Airbus A321 first flew in March 1993. Information about Alitalia Formed during 1946 as the Aerolinee Italiane Internazionali, commonly known as Alitalia, it joined the SkyTeam Alliance in 2001, Alitalia's current airliner fleet consists of Airbus, Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft.
