Boeing on 15th of July 1916, as “Pacific Aero Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of May 1917. The Boeing 747-400 series entered service in February 1989, a freighter version four years later, it is the only 747 series still in production although Boeing intends to introduce a new stretched version, the "747-8 Intercontinental". Information about Air New Zealand Air New Zealand is the national airline of New Zealand, originally formed in April 1940 as Tasman Empire Airways Limited, TEAL was nationalized in April 1965 becoming Air New Zealand and the national airline. Air New Zealand currently runs a mixed fleet of Airbus, Aerospatiale, Boeing, Beech, Bombardier and Saab aircraft, Boeing 747 and 777 airliners being used for it's International Long Haul services.
