Airbus Industrie began as a consortium of European aviation firms in 1967 when British, French and German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the first Airbus airliner the Airbus A300. Today Airbus and Boeing dominate the Worlds airliner production. The Airbus A320 is a twin engined, single aisle airliner seating 180 passengers, the aircraft first flew on the 22nd February 1987.

Aeroflot is the Russian national airline, it was formed in 1932 by joining all of Russia's civil aviation activities into Grazhdanskiy Wozdushnyy Flot (Civil Air Fleet), for convenience it was referred to simply as Aeroflot, before WW2 Aeroflot was the worlds largest airline. In the year 2000 Aeroflot was re-named "Aeroflot Russian Airlines" to reflect their international intentions.
