VP-BQS Aeroflot - Russian Airlines Airbus A321-211Airbus Industrie began as a consortium of European aviation firms in 1967 when British, French and German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the first Airbus airliner the Airbus A300. Today Airbus and Boeing dominate the Worlds airliner production, the largest airliner in production for many decades has been the "Jumbo" Boeing 747 series but now the new Airbus A380, due to enter service in 2007 is even bigger and is already referred to as the "Superjumbo". The Airbus A321 is a twin engine, single aisle plane, based on the A320 but lengthened by 6.94 m allowing a seating capacity of 220 passengers, the Airbus A321 first flew on the 11th of March 1993. Information about Aeroflot - Russian Airlines Aeroflot, the Russian national airline, was formed in 1932 by consolidating all Russian civil aviation activities into Grazhdanskiy Wozdushnyy Flot (Civil Air Fleet), for convenience it was referred to simply as Aeroflot, prior to WW2 Aeroflot was the worlds largest airline.
